Daphne Jane DeSilva

Daphne Jane DeSilva, in her 86th of Smith’s Parish, passed away of a long-term illness on January 21, 2023 surrounded by family. Daphne was the daughter of the late Florence and Frederick Powell. Her siblings were Miller Powell [deceased], William Powell [deceased], Everett Powell [Gail], Gail D’Alessio [John], Cynthia King [Parker], as well as Tonia, Benita [deceased], and Mae Powell.
She was the wife of the late Ozzie DeSilva. Together they had two sons, Keith [Elaine] and Mark [Sue]. Daphne had the privilege of either raising or being actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren Julie Evans [Charlie], Sarah Almeida, Robyn Hooper [Alex], Mark Jr DeSilva [Lexi], and Raymond DeSilva. Daphne also had eight great-grandchildren who brought her joy: Ethan, Elliot, Moriah, Caleigh Evans, Dominick Almeida, Colton and Wyatt DeSilva, and Michael “Ozzie” Hooper.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations to be made to the Agape House. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at 4pm at Christ Church Warwick.
