A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Edith Alberta Godwin [Nee Simons], beloved wife of the late Edric ‘Frates’ Godwin, daughter of the late Earlington Simons and Maria Berneice Wears Simons, loving mother of Edric ‘Eddie’ Godwin [Terri], Berneice, Colin and the late Brian Godwin [Georgette], of 4 Simons Drive, Warwick, in her 88th year, will be held at St. Mary the Virgin Church in Warwick at 3.00 p.m. on Thursday, 11th January, 2018.
Interment will follow the service at St Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation: Relatives and friends may pay respects on Wednesday 10th January only from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Amis Memorial Chapel, Khyber Pass, Warwick.
Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Gabrielle Garofano, Cassandra and Brinae Godwin; great-grandchildren Mikayla and Cash Garofano; Special nephews Gerald Simons [Sheilagh], Clifford Wade [Jessica], special niece Sandra Thornhill [Denis]; sisters-in-law Violet Simons, Joan Simmons, Winifred Simons; brother-in -law Lawrence Godwin [Betty]; nieces Stephanie Simons, Cynthia Tacklyn [Kent], Taiwo George and Kehinde George, Rochelle Lee, Lauren Godwin and Alison Godwin; nephews, Donald Richardson, Raymond Tannock, Michael Simons [Caroline], Paul Simons, Roderick Simons [Joy], Oli George [Katharina], Melvin Simons [Leanne], Edwin Simons [Beza]; Special friend and primary caregiver, Linda McKinson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics Bermuda, 9th Floor, Cumberland House #1 Victoria Street, Hamilton, Bermuda HM 12.
She was predeceased by her sisters Isabelle Richardson, Marion George and Blanche Wade; brothers Warren ‘Bussie’, Henry, Roderick and George Simons; sister-in-law the late Elmira Wilson; brothers-in-law Austin & Edgar Godwin; nephew David Richardson, niece Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Pettaway.
