Ernestine Wilbur “Sis” Simmons

A graveside funeral service celebrating the life of Ernestine Wilbur “Sis” Simmons [nee Simons], beloved wife of Ephraim James Simmons, daughter of the late Ernestine Louise Simons [nee Lightbourn] and the late William Stanley Simons; beloved mother of Dr. J. A. Kent Simmons [Hon. Kim Wilson] and Beth-Jewel Holdipp [Steven], in her 91st year, of “Whale View”, 23 Lighthouse Road, Southampton will be held at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Warwick on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 4 PM. Interment to follow the service at St Mary’s Church Cemetery, Middle Road Warwick. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Amis Memorial Chapel for a viewing on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 6:00-7:30 PM.
Due to Covid-19 regulations all persons must adhere to the recommended guidelines – ie, wear mask, sanitize hands and physical distance. The family is appreciative of those who wish to relay their condolences in person, however the family respectfully requests at this time no hugging and to greet at a distance.
Sis is also survived by her grandchildren: Stefan Holdipp, Alexa Holdipp, Niara Simmons and Kent Simmons, Jr.; Sister-in-law: Joan Simons [late Raymond]; brother-in-law: John Simmons [Joan]; nieces June-Ann Lambert [Elwood], Rosmond Rawlins [late Lawrence], Equilla Rawlins [late Charles], Carol Stoneham [late Marshall], Lillian Walters [late Victor], Debra Paynter [Richard], Linda-Lee Smith [Evan], Rochelle Gibbons [late Gerald], Unity Marquis, Glorita Hayward [Quinton], Valarie Francis [Earl], Stephanie Cameron [late Conte], Jonelle Christopher [Kevin]; nephews Leon James [Judith] and Elvin James [Michelle], Cornell Simons [Marjorie], Norbert Seymour [Noleen], Stephen Dears [Kandra] Joseph Simmons [Susan], Jonathan and Dwight Stone; Special Great nieces and nephews Lauren Rawlins, Lisa Wade [Kim], Ian Rawlins, Blake Lambert [Sasha], Renee Fox [Antoine], and numerous other relatives and friends both here in Bermuda and abroad.
Sis was predeceased by her siblings: Gladys McMillan [John], Arlene James [Arthur], Alice Rawlins [Edward/Mincy], Dorothy Bean [Naurice], Beryl Gilbert [Thomas Minton Sr], Raymond and Carl Simons.
