Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the death of John Neville Percy Paynter.

A funeral service for John Neville Percy Paynter, devoted husband of Shirley Paynter [née Simmons], father of the late Neville Simons, son of the late, great Percy Paynter and Ruth Paynter, stepson of Winifred Paynter, brother of the late Ronald Paynter, Millard Paynter [Carolyn Ann], Ralph Richardson [Julie Ann], Vernon ‘Butch’ Paynter [Melva], Donna Mae Buckley [John], Juanita ‘Cookie’ Knight, Corrine Fiacco [Bruno], Lautina Thompson [Curt] and a member of the Esso Steel Band, in his 75th year of 7 Junction Lane, Dock Hill, Devonshire. Will be held at Christ Church Devonshire on Sunday September 6th at 3pm.

Internment will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Pembroke.

A celebration of Mr. Paynter’s remarkable life will begin with a viewing on Saturday, September 5, at the Augustus Funeral Home Rose Chapel between 7.00 and 9:00 in the evening, and on Sunday, September 6, from 2 pm until 2:45 pm at Christ Anglican Church, Devonshire.

Mr. Paynter was also loved by his uncle Jimmy Paynter [Marie] and aunt Marie Weller, late parents-in-law Kenneth and Ivy Simmons, sisters and brothers-in law Harriett Woods [Donald] of the USA, the late Louise Francis [Peter], Gloria Frederick [Rawle], Marilyn Barstowe [the late Charles], Kay Seaman [Roderick] of the USA, Joycelyn Lawrence and Kenneth Simmons Jr., godchildren Chemeca Darrell and Calvin Simons. He had numerous nieces, nephews and friends spanning the CB Community, the Liberty Theatre family and the Christ Anglican Church Devonshire family.
