Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Sylvia Anise [Niecy] Burgess.
A service celebrating the life of Sylvia Anise [Niecy] Burgess, wife of the late Eugene Burgess, daughter of the late Rupert Ashley Richardson and the late Edna Bernice Richardson, sister of the late Gladwin Richardson, beloved mother of Vincent Orian Outerbridge, in her 89th year, of Lefroy House, #7 Heydon Rd, Sandy’s, will be held at St. John’s Church, Pembroke on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 1pm.
Interment will follow in St. John’s Church cemetery.
There will be no viewings or wake. Colours can be worn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Friends of Lefroy House.
Sylvia Burgess also leaves behind her daughter-in-law: Sandra E. M. Outerbridge; grandson: Kyle O. Outerbridge [Cindy]; granddaughter: Tiffany S. Whitter [Shakai], great-grandchildren: Rajae and Malaya Whitter; nieces, nephews with special mention given to her nephew, Calvin Richardson [Cal], special friends: Mabel Dill, Marilyn Jackson, Joan Covington and Vincy Sams, former neighbours in Brooklyn, NY who affectionately referred to her as “Burgess” or “Mrs.B”, members of The Deliverance Temple Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, New York who respectfully and affectionately referred to her as “Mother Burgess”, host of other relatives and friends.
A very special “thank you” also goes to all the staff at the Lefroy House for their excellent and loving care of her since October 2013.
