Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Shane Maurice Furbert.

A Homegoing service for Shane Maurice Furbert, son of Carol Burrows [nee Furbert] and the late Arthur ‘Ripper’ ‘Jack’ Burrows, beloved fiancé of the late Jane Simons Butterfield, loving step-father to Thayja and Samantha Simons, brother to Vaughn Burrows [Laquita], Curry Burrows, Jacqui Cave [UK], Tueré Eve [John] and Jacquel Burrows in his 58th year of 8 Railway Terrace West, Pembroke, HM16 will be held at Church of Christ, Brighton Hill Road, Devonshire, Today, February 8, 2023 at 1.00pm.

Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Pembroke. There will be no viewing.

He is survived by step-grandchildren: Jovi Simons-Dwyer and Jagger Ingham; mother-in-law: Kathleen Simons; aunts: Diane Roberts, Linda Bean, Albertha Smith and Sharon Furbert; uncles: Edward Burrows, Preston Simmons, Roydon Furbert, Eugene Furbert and Andre Furbert; nieces: Jahdé Rabain and Madison Rebelo; godchildren: Detré Ford, Shuntae Hendrickson, Donté Smith, and Zekere Frost; special friends: Shervi-Ann Hendrickson-Litchmore, Wendell Burrows, Shawn Ming, George Spencer, Kirk Douglas, Antoine and Antrone Simons, Darren Simmons, Daniel Dwyer, Warwick Secondary School Class of ’82, the Friswells Hill Family, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Shane was pre-deceased by his great grandmother Inez Furbert [nee Burch] grandfather: Maxwell Furbert; grandmothers: Lucille Furbert [nee Simmons] and Griselda Burrows, great aunt Dorthea Burch and aunt: Iris Simmons. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shane’s memory may be made to PALS www.pals.bm or PO Box DV19, Devonshire, DVBX. Colours may be worn. The service will be streamed live on TNN Bermuda News As It Happens Facebook page. Covid-19 precautions are to be observed.
