A Home Going service for Mrs. Shirley Ann Verona Gibbons, beloved wife of Gary Gibbons, daughter of the late Harrison and Lena Smith, loving mother to Gary Jr., [Rocky], Legay, Sidney [Sam], Swayne Gibbons, Kim Pitt, Nedra Minors, Lena Hassell, Lacey Fraser, sister to Jacqueline, Yvonne Outerbridge, Barbara Bean, Madge White, Charlene Shakir, Jennifer Smith, Beverly Dill, Angelia Todd, the late Reginald and Wilbur Smith in her 77th year of 20 Harlem Heights Road, Baileys Bay, Hamilton Parish will be held at St. John’s A.M.E. Church, 41 Wilkinson Avenue, Bailey’s Bay Today, March 19, 2016 at 3pm.
Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Agape House or Maltida Smith Williams Senior Residence.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at St. John’s A.M.E. Church Today, March 19, 2016 from 2 – 2:55 pm.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Dejuan, Kionne, Tiffany, George Jr., Jahki, Kujaun, Swaynisha, Sierra, Jelania, Ryan, Undrea and Laundyn; great-grandchildren: Armani, Zhamir, Gabrielle, Zhion, Sochi and Lily; son-in-Law: George Hassell; sisters-in-Law: Greta Somner, Mary Smith and Peggy Gibbons; brothers-in-law: Melvin Somner, Ken Outerbridge, Eugene Bean, Glen White, Hassan Shakir, Calvin Dill and Richard Todd; godchildren: Shawnette Easton, Tawana Butterfield, Charla Gibbons and Jair Duke; special friends: Brenda Pearman, Elspeth Trott, Florette Nash, Betty Smith, Carol Smith, Lessline Somersall; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
