Lets just first say thanks to you all for putting in your comments and not asking how is the driver or the people on the bike.
Lets get one thing stright the driver was not speading the bus was full of passengers. The couple on the bike the men made a bad call.He turn in front of the bus and the wasn’t unable to stop in time.Just remember when you point a finger at ther driver saying its their fault, not all of them speed and besides they cant speed the buses are fixed so the don’t go over 50km and some les then that.Just put yourself in their shoes and what can you do to avoid and accidents

Of course we don’t know the facts yet, but come on, who many times have you seen a bus NOT speeding?!

I see buses, police cars and bikes, ambulances and even GP cars doing over 50.

It’s all well saying “stay positive”, but how will that help?

Call PTB? Right, because you’re going to go out of your way to take details whilst driving, then pick up a phone at some point? No chance.

I agree that peeople should not be making assumptions. Accidents happen that’s why they are called “accidents” we don’t know the circumstances. “Chingas” your statement would be better served by calling PTB and informing them of the dangerous driving you witnessed by one of their employees, posting it here isn’t doing much good and serves no real purpose.

I agree with stop the negativity! No one knows what happened and we are all just jumping to conclusions. While we can sit here and say the bus was speeding etc. im sure everyone here speeds. PERIOD! its called the flow of traffic. Yes the speed limit is 35….when has anyone gotten a speeding ticket for 40, or 45….only really 50 and above. So lets not be irrational and rather realistic. The incident could be because of the riders on the bike. like said above, most tourist are riding a moped for the first time and being a confident rider after a little parking lot lesson is probably a little too much to ask. I think we all should be wishing everyone a speedy recover and give thanks that they are alive and will be ok. lets not try and pin everyone down and place blame when we have no facts but rather lets STAY POSITIVE!!!

Lets be real…Some tourist & locals for that matter DO NOT NEED TO BE ON A MOPED AT ALL…A ride around in a circle in a parking lot is hardly teaching them to ride!

We need to kill the negativity. Every comment so far on this post is based on sheer assumption of the circumstances surrounding this accident. We as Bermudians are so quick to judge and assume the worst of what could have happened rather than waiting until we are informed to comment. People you all want to talk about courtesy going out the door – well it starts with an attitude of being positive and being able to smile at the world. Stop being so negative and you might teach your children to get the “old Bermudian spirit” back.

I was following a bus from Cobbs Hill towards town yesterday at 8:30 am, and it was going well over 65km for over a mile. Barely missing the walls and oncoming traffic. Just a matter of time…

They also need to be advised that courtesy went out the door when entitlement came in. I am entitled to speed, I am entitled to run a red light, I am entitled to run the stop sign, I am entitled too double park I am entitled to drive without a license. I am entitled just because I am entitled so very few humble people on this island it is a shame.

…..when advising tourists renting bikes that the speed limit is 35kph, it might be an idea to let them know that they shouldn’t expect any other traffic to be keeping that limit. It looked to me that the bike was making a right turn in front of the bus…..maybe they would have made that turn successfully if the bus was adhering to the limit, as they may have naively judged it.

Hopefully all involved will make a full recovery.
