Yeah winnie it’s great that they are doing a good job..but if they had killed the person that they “ran up” on you would be singing a different tune..heaven forbid had it been a realtive of yours…Yes everyone wants a better Bermuda.. @ Truth hurts yes one without CORRUPTION (because that’ts the cause of a lot of things even though we as a people don’t want to admit it)and yse without shackles (Slavery days are over). I give credit where credit is due..but when something is done in a manner where it could have been handle better I find fault with that…In reference to one of the posters above who said that some police can be a pain..I totally agree we have some officers that do the right thing..but there are others that are as shady as the night is long..it’s not the first time that someone has been run off the road by Police..I won’t go into details because my comment was not posted the last time as I guess I gave to much information..not a problem..We can big up the Police when they make an arrest, solve a crime etc..but when they do wrong they need to be held accountable as well..they too are not above the law like some of them think…

Great job again BPS, everyone wants you to be everywhere, however when you do your job like running up on that bike they cry foul. We have to realise that the dynamics have changed in this country and “soft” policing will not work. Ahain Great job BPS keep it up.

Must admit that there seems to be more of a debate line here than on other threads.

As for “bring back dee rope”, well we saw what happened in 1977 and I happened to be there. It was no fun and much was lost.

Having trodden a few miles in the footsteps of the officers that you see and don’t see each day, I can assure you it’s no picnic. Sure there are a few albeit very few that can be a pain in the ass but after you work that 8 hour shift you just wanna go home, have a beer/coke and chill.

Most of these men and women are working much longer hours. Have families and children that need attention and they do it. It’s not an easy job and with so many people/s knowing whom you are, where you live, hours, et al it can take and make a strain.

But….they do it, day in..day out. Get spat on, F…off, intimidated, threatened, assaulted, and all the humiliation that comes from certain segments.

Can they do better? You be the judge. Government play a major part but the laws are in place and penalties need to be meated out and all of our peers need to do their job.

Bermuda’s shinning light needs a new wick. Lets replace it, trim it and light it.

Everyone acts tough online but with a gun in your face, unless their actual intent is to kill you, is it really a good idea to “see how far they get”?

I agree 100% – this is great news and credit should be given! Thank you BPS. This is one more gun off our streets! Who knows how many murders that gun had in its future? Who knows how many murders it may have already caused? One gun at a time – just get them off our streets! Please see to it that these men get locked up and given the maximum sentence for gun possession – think about it, they had the means to get one gun…if we let them out, they’ll get another.

Well done BPS! Again another positive article where it looks as if good work has been done. 3 comments after 24 hours, sad. We have numerous stories that are 50+ comments moaning and groaning about corruption, ankle shackles,corruption, decriminalization and what a great guy Kofi and his gang are. Bermuda, voice your opinion as is your God given right, but give credit where credit is due. Keep up the good (but difficult) work BPS.

It is about time these rotten people are dealt with, using a STRONG arm of the law. The sad thing is too many people are related to, or friends with, the criminals in this country, and they are too pathetic, wimpy, and weak to turn in these monsters. This enables them to spread like a rampant disease.
Bermuda has become a trash heap, compared to the beauty it once was. And this is all due to the certain group of individuals who are gangsters or wannabe-gangsters.
Their mentality is a disease that is infecting all the youth in Bermuda, and it will only become much worse. How do guns get in Bermuda? Think for one minute hard, and you will find your answer, using common sense.
These monsters do not deserve to be called human, because they enjoy the pride associated with harming or killing others. Such monsters should be punished by a STRONG arm of the law that is not afraid to HURT THEM BACK. Examples should be made of these monsters, like it was done in yesteryear.
When the law is too afraid to punish hard, then crime rises. Simple.
By law I mean LAW OF THE LAND AND THE POLICE FORCE.
Guns are not made here, they are brought in. Stop that influx, and stop more guns. Check the regiment for illegal supplies, or supplying, as it is well known that they are a cause of firearms in the poplace. Remember the regiment grenade found under a car years ago?
People who are hiding criminals, or witholding information should be punished severely, as they are no better than the monsters they protect. It does not matter if these protectors are mommas or poppas, or grannies. It does not matter how often they attend church or how nice they dress. They are causing the ruin of Bermuda.
When the wimps GROW some courage and stop being such losers, then they will turn in the criminals who are poisoning our island and its international image.
New York City has about 22 million people, and only 532 murders in 2010. Compare that to Bermuda. It is just pathetic.
Thanks a lot, you worthless monsters. Go count your money. God will have the last laugh.

what is this madness. step to me with a gun and try to rob me, see how far you get.
remember what happened to that poor soul who tried to rob someones house a while back? he got sent to the hospital. people need to take a stand. im not saying beat em up….lol but do not let people get away with this kinds of stuff. just because they’re brandishing a gun does not mean they have the guts to shoot it. this is bermuda.
