Because most civil servants don’t really want to work at all. They want a cushy government jawb where they can’t get fired now matter how useless or lazy.

Why not have the overstaffed Government Departments have similar days with Civil Servants helping the Community? If the Minister of Finace considers she can’t make them redundant then make them useful.

Those horrible International Business people helping beautify Bermuda?? (sarcasm) YES – and this isn’t the first time nor the only IB company that does this on a regular basis. Instead of making them feel unwelcome, why don’t we say “Thank you” when we see them out there picking up our trash, building wheel chair ramps for our people, planting flowers… Shame on us for always harshing on these companies. Granted, they live here too, so they want Bermuda to look nice, but shame on us for biting the hand that feeds us AND CLEANS UP AFTER US!!!!!

Also – can someone explain why a much needed wheel chair ramp wasn’t installed by our own government?? SHAME!!!
