Photo Slideshow: Swimming Time Trials
This past Friday [Feb.25] local athletes joined with visiting swimmers from Canada’s Mount Allison University in a swimming time trial at the BASA Pool. Local swimmers Sophie Froud and Shannon Botelho successfully made the Carifta qualifying standards during the meet.
During the Mixed 50 SC Meter Freestyle Time Trial, the top four spots went to Mount Allison swimmers, with Mitchell Peters recording the fastest time of clocking 24.73, DeSilva had the second fastest time of 25.35. Parker Vaughan was clocked at 26.51 and MacGregor Grant finished 4th in 26.80, Dejan Wellman recorded the 5th fastest time of 27.01 to lead the Bermuda Swimmers. In the Mixed 50 SC Meter Backstroke Time Trial Mount Allison swimmer Marya Peters hit the line in 32.41, while Shannon Botelho was second in 36.99 and Charlie Pilgrim finished 3rd in 37.13.
