How about the kids and parents who are being told (and believing) that for a mere $5k each they are guaranteed to be assessed by EPL clubs with contracts readily available for those deemed good enough.

We obviously can’t speak for individual promoters but generally speaking there is a lot of money to be made from organizing soccer camps – its an industry in its own right in the US and the UK – all with the bait of a University scholarship or a professional contract.

What should be made clear is whether such things are part of a genuine development plan, a “life experience” opportunity or a means of getting the kids out of your hair for a few weeks.

Arguably a two week trip cannot be either of the first two.
