So the budget gets cut, so what. What happen to doing a job because you care about the safety of your country. I have a question for BPS, how do you let a murder stand trial get found “not guilty” the person gets deported and yet I saw them yesterday back on the island walking as a free citizen? Any answers for that?

Well Minor; It’s quite obvious that they are taxed beyond limits. Stop and searches are part and parcial to prevention. As for the others you mentioned these are priority areas when addressing crime and intelligence.

As for the beats, well thats already covered. Few and far between but they need to be elsewhere too.

“Successful convictions plays no part in a Police Officers job nor is it worried about. You do it, present the facts and after that it can bite but you have done your part…( or be like other countries and just shoot your ass and dispose of you).

“Poor preperation”. DPP et al would not put cases before the courts if a prima faci case could not be proved.

Being an optimist I thank the BPS for attempting to get a handle on the crimes. I am interested in the following statistics:

Of the increased police activity – how much effort was utilized on the softer activities such as Stop and Search, Traffic Ticketing versus Walking the Beat, Constant Patrolling of the Monica’s Mission, Court Street, Fenton Drive, Middletown, Ord Road locations?

Of the increased arrests – what are the percentages of Successful Convictions?

Of the Criminal prosecutions – how many cases resulted in an acquittal of the accused not because of Innocence but because of the poor preparationn of the cases by the Police/Crown?

Just looking for meaningful information.
