Fact: Mr. Pond lost his job weeks before the court case not after. His behaviour would have been considered gross misconduct. Fact: The union has the option of arbitration as the final stage of a grievance process but unfortunately it appears that historically they have avoided arbitration and opted to use threatening behaviour to enforce their way. This may be because the case to be presented to an arbitor would be too weak to win but then I might just be to cynical.

The incident occurred while Mr. Pond was performing his job duties while clearly being a representative of the CoH. As with any other position in any other industry a transgression as serious as violent behaviour cannot go unpunished, and termination is the standard penalty for an act of such gross misconduct.

However the justice system has fined him for his transgression. Why in the hell would you dismiss him from his job as well?????
I think more of theses gangster brats on the streets of Bermuda needs some ruffing up. If their parents cannot or will not do it, somebody’s got to it. Maybe then we will have less gunbangers and robbers outhere!
As for industrial action, we live in a democracy and it is not against the law to have industrial action. While some are scared of loosing there jobs and others are content with being victims, the rest of us will do what we have to…….Oh and I forgot still some others are sitting at home,retired,drawing a government check every month and have nothing better to do then criticize things they do not know anything of.
