Bermuda is not a secretive jurisdiction as claimed by Rueters. Also, the finacing of terrorism and money laundering are both criminal offences in Bermuda. The experience from 9/11 showed that the funds used for financing that terror plot originated from onshore banks – whether within the US or UK. Furthermore, countries like Norway and most of the Europe have for too long ignored the terrorist being groomed in their own backyard. The UK learnt this rather paintfull lesson with the spate of those tragic bus bombings across London. Rather than looking for scapegoats, Norway should instead clean up its own house!
