In the event you did not read my suggestions – every one of them was meant to be free or at the least, a nominal amount of money.

Furthermore, why does every function need to have food for gawd’s sake? Obesity is problem in this Island.

It costs the group money to rent the premises, offer food to you, etc. This price definitely is not paying the presenters or their staff, I am sure.

Do teachers currently get “Orientation week” to factually introduce them to Bermuda’s people, so that they can leave some of their presumptions at their house before heading to work?
Each school may have certain ‘powerful’ parents that want a certain culture to be maintained, and may influence certain teachers to do so.
What has happened recently when, by the end of half-term, one teacher has obviously ostracized students with a common trait?

Any initiative that promotes a better understanding of racist with a view to uprooting it should be commended and I think, FREE.

Only the ‘enlightened’ people will attend, those who have an open mind and a willingness to change the status quo will make the effort. So why make them pay? It’s the masses – both races that need your message. Find a way to get the message out there. Suggestions: PTA meetings, Community – Town Hall meetings, Facebook, Emoo etc. Be creative!
