Well i know of two drivers that speed a lot but they ALLWAYS say they don’t.

As ITFRB says, most likely driver error. It is highly unlikely that the kingpin broke especially with an empty trailer.

When backing into a trailer to hitchup the 5th wheel jaws usually make a very noticable ‘kerlunk’ as they close around the kingpin. The release handle also moves to give a visual confirmation that the jaws have closed. Failure to check results in, well, pictures.

Looks awfully close to that pole. This could have been much more serious should the trailer have come in contact with the pole and ripped the pole down. Glad no one was injured. Accidents do happen.

Some of trailer driver are always speeding on the road! i am not suggesting this was the cause but, They need to slow down!!! seriously

This is clearly driver error all tractor heads or tractor trailers have a fifth wheel pin which locks to act as an extra safety pin for trailers being pulled. This fifth wheel also allows the trailer to turn up to 180 degrees on when on the back of a trailer. This pin if maintained properly will hold up to 80 tons of weight. If it is not engaged it will hold nothing at all. Any thing attached will simply release and under its own weight just pull back out.
