He’s our little national treasure. Some people have said to me that he’s just a “silly little old man”, but they don’t see the light of love coming from his eyes. They don’t see the wisdom of simply loving people just because they are sharing our planet. He can draw a smile from the most miserable, the most hateful, the most destitute. That takes talent and heart. I wish there were people like him everywhere, willing to put their love on public display, sharing it with all. When he is gone, I hope everyone will look at his statue and still get that good feeling….
