There you have it! Trident condemning a man for paying attention in school, graduating from college, working all his life, providing the milk most of us drink, and giving much of his valuable time to TRYING to keep the country stable. Where has this man gone so far wrong in the eyes of Trident? So if I save my money, work hard create a business, provide employment to 100 others
and volunteer my time to the community I should expect to be denigrated for it? Freddy Yearwood was also a great businessman who was not wasteful or frivolous with his earnings and I bet you wouldn’t hammer him with your socialist sentiments, not that you would even be familiar with such men of substance. You are the embodiment of the phrase ‘resentment against achievement’.
It is this failing that you seem to have no control over exhibiting that makes you such a poor role model for our youth.

It is quite evident that most of you comment to try and cast negativity over someone that is trying to be positive. I wonder if any of you commenting live in St. David’s at all. Are any of you members of St. David’s Cricket Club and know what was done to improve their grounds. I think not. I happen to be a member of the club and personally know of the work that Ms. Foggo put in to help improve their grounds. The fencing surrounding the club, the backfield works and the road on the club grounds was orchestrated by Ms. Foggo. If you have any doubt about this you can contact the Club, they will tell you 2970449.

As for Ms. Foggo not doing any work, let me correct you. Buses only ran until 6:15pm in St. David’s at least since i was born some 28 years ago. Let me add that there was no early morning bus either. Keep in mind this was under the UBP government. Ms. Foggo worked hard to have the bus schedule changed, and this just doesn’t happen instantly. The statistics must show that people need the service in order for it to run. Now, there is an early morning bus at 6:15am so that people can get to work and buses run into St. David’s up until 9:15pm. If you ever lived in St. David’s you would appreciate that this is a significant change. Ms. Foggo orchestrated this. We now have an emergency care facility in St. David’s which Ms. Foggo helped to orchestrate as well.

Before you comment on the clinics which are held, you should attend one. Clinics are in place so that if a constituent has any concerns they can voice them to Ms. Foggo.

As for the ‘plantation’ speech as you all so eloquently put it, if you believe that is the context in which Ms. Foggo spoke, then you are all as ignorant as your comments are. Firstly, her full speech wasn’t published via television or the newspaper, not that it would because the media is bias and always has been, so how would you hear the message that was put out in that speech. As for M.T. Pockets, I think it’s hilarious that you believe that there were no plantations in Bermuda, I can show you some plantation property if you’d like. For the record speaking about slavery has nothing to do with scaremongering. It took place, it is a part of history, and still has an impact on the world today. It is a truth, you may not like it but it is one.

And ‘Honestly,’ I don’t even know why people read your comments as they are just hear say. You actually don’t know about anything, you are repeating only what you have heard. I quote, “speaking about things which have been in existence for decades, NOTHING TO DO WITH HER AT ALL. St. David’s Cricket Club and Preschool Lord help me! All I hear that…” You haven’t a clue about what you are saying. Do your research and then come back with a statement about Ms. Foggo’s work. The increased bus schedule, the emergency care facility, the road works, nor the Club’s work has been around for decades. Picking up a piece of paper will tell you that. Maybe you should sit in the archives and read a book before spouting statements of negativity.

It is amazing to me that people in this country only started paying attention to debt when PLP came into power and when the media portrayed every other country around the world crying about their growing debt. WE in Bermuda are not the only sufferers of growing debt. WE will never be. PLP, UBP, OBA, Obama, Sadaam, Hiliary, or Miss Piggy can’t save us from debt. Debt is orchestrated. If you would like to end debt in Bermuda and be a hero and end debt Worldwide for that matter, call The Federal Reserve, they are the only ones that can truly eradicate debt. They won’t because it’s how they stay rich. So debt smebt.

I am a St. David’s Islander, been all of my life, how long have you been a resident? Apparently not long, because if you did, you would be as upset with what Lovitta said in her remarks. Every true St. David’s Islander should be driving with their lights on, honking horns and writing letters to the Editor and other kind protest agains this woman’s remarks. This is what troubles me with Ms. Foggo – taking glory for what??? Apparently, she knows nothing at all about our Community. How dare she say the things that she has done when it all has been there from time before I was born and my parents. We love our Community and for what she says she has done, it has always been there, except for the clinic, the pre-school (my son attended – he is now 35):
With the support of my government, my constituents, family and friends, we have been able to:

■make the Lambe Foggo Clinic a reality – where is the Ambulance to go with the Clnic…. the EMS has been in the Cove Valley area twice this week and over the weekend – how long does it take an ambulance to get from Paget to St. David’s – save a life or lose it because of the wait on the ambulance… ■secure the existence of the St. David’s PreSchool – ??? My son attended the nursery – he is now 35 yrs of age… and we are proud our Nursery.
■have the recognition of our local hero and educator/principal, Mr. Hilton Richardson – thought this was proposed by Mr. Richardson’s grandson Russell Richardson – Mr. Richardson’s family are very well known and respected in St. David’s – all that was caused was confusion – teach St. david’s history in the school from young – teach all parish history in the parish school’s that is the true Bermuda history
■have St. David’s Cricket Club highlighted in its capacity both historically and presently, as the hub for community, sport and entertainment and for developing social growth in our St. David’s family community. – You did??? OUR Club has always been known for being the ‘social, sports hub’ in our Community and this island – so what did you do???? Oh, showed up for a meeting – WoW!!!St. David’s has always been a loving, kind, considerate, compassionate community – so what it you have done for/with us Ms. Foggo??? Our Community churches and their congregations are continuging to do wonderful things in St. David’s .
There have been many challenges along the way and as your area representative, with the help of the community and our Government we have been able to overcome hurdles and have succeeded in improving the environment and spirit of St. David’s. – now Lovitta, this is where you really missed the mark. You and who improved the what – Lovitta, your eviction notice is on it’s way… improved the environment and spirit of St. David’s… Oh my oh my oh my – what NONSENSE!!! Definitely a no go…. GONE!

The man is honest and reliable, he could take the easy path and go cool out in Costa Rica and sell off his business but no, he keeps many Bermudians employed and goes out into the constituency regularly and offers the people there a voice in the running of the Country. OBA pushing people to act? You need to give more credit to those of the voting public who can actually look at our political landscape objectively; without the blinkers of blind party loyalty. There are some strident partisan voices here, but not everyone expressing their opinions are dyed-in-the-wool OBA supporters. This PLP government has provided more than ample justification for sharp criticism through their track record.

Mind you, I can see why the idea of being coerced or “pushed to act” a certain way by your party of choice is not a foreign concept. The PLP propaganda machine certainly has stooped way lower than that in the past to retain votes. For example, let’s keep track of how many times SG4Y manages to use “lynching” in this thread.

Is the same not true of members of the PLP? Thats what is wrong with this island. We back people when they are right or wrong because of their party affiliation. People have the right to choose and we should all decide for ourselves without being taunted, bullied, lied to, bribed or threatened. My wife and I don’t always agree on politics, religion, our childs education, travel destinations, and many other things but we still are respectful to one another. Because we are, we often (not always) come to a compromise which usualy is beneficial to the entire family. I don’t threaten or belittle her because she has a different opinion than me!? I stopped that childish behavior in high school. I believe we should stop this stupid party politics system we have….it will be our doom if we don’t. I will vote for the person that is intelligent and that I belive will work hard and honestly for the PEOPLE of Bermuda regardless of the the party. If we all did Bermuda would be better off. If it makes you feel good, retain your memberships in the OBA, PLP, UBP, NBA, NFL or whatever. Attend the rallies, the parties, the functions and all of that stuff if you wish but when you get behind the curtain or election day…VOTE FOR THE BEST CANDIDATE, not your uncle, aunt, cousin, brother, boss,dance teacher, high school priciple, the milk man, union boss, neighbour because they are PLP , UBP or OBA.

Can we PLEASE have someone in #10 who will actually represent the residents of the constituency. Someone who will AT LEAST take a ride through and see what needs to be done (fixes/repairs). Someone who will stop and say hello. Someone who will support the business’s in the area. Sorry Ms. Minors…you have N-E-V-E-R been to our neighborhood.
