The other evening, some time after 10pm, I heard a loud scratching in my living room. I thought at first it was my cat, but then I heard some other strange noises. When I went to investigate, I found that someone had separated my window screen from its frame at one corner and pushed in one of Mr. David Burt’s campaign flyers.

I could assume the person was an enthusiastic supporter of Mr. Burt out canvassing very late and didn’t want to wake me up.

Or I could wonder if this was a message from someone who knows I don’t intend to vote for Mr. Burt and was letting me know they know where I live and that next time something more serious could come through my window.

What should I do – beside pay for the repair to my screen before the mosquitoes eat me alive?

A little jealous mate? Sorry to hear that. There is a remedy though…. you can actually go to work and make your own money and they you dont have to rank on everyone else anymore.

I know many of the Kempe’s and I have never felt that they were entitled.

Nick would probably suprise most people if they met him. He would be able to relate to pretty much anyone….. except maybe @Liars here!

A political baptism by fire, but guess what!! He has the gonads to put himself out there and that speaks a lot about this guy called Nick. He also obviously has a brain which is what severely lacks in Bermuda politics, seems it will the the battle of Brains v/s Ego and unfortunately we know what skin color and attributes people in this constituency are likely to go for.

This lets me know a couple of things:

1. Either the OBA is absolutely clueless, or;
2. They are not attracting the types of candidates they need to engage with the electorate

I live in the this constituency and my jaw dropped when I saw the candidate. Granted I do not know anything about Mr. Kempe. I do know that the OBA however has an image problem and this selection just plays into that argument on so many levels.

Thanks, OBA. I am now between a rock and a hard place. Not wanting to vote for the PLP but wanting to vote for somebody who I feel can connect with me and represent me. Sorry, this ain’t it.

I’m for neither party but Atleast I saw this guy in my neighborhood trying.
FYI Burt is a total pin head with his head where the sun don’t shine and arrogance that seeps out of his pores. Met him twice without knowing who he was. My first impression was HeeeHaaaaw. Straight up jackrabbit if you know what I mean.

Burt is a good guy, just because he doesn’t support the UBP I mean OBA. Changing the name is not going to win you the election. Donte and Mark you should have never invited the UBP in. The party you had before was new clean and fresh. Now that you have the UBP higher ups telling what to do. Sorry I can’t support you 2 and trust me I know you guys personally. In all honesty I know you mean well, but I can’t vote for a party who is really the UBP.

Who would vote for him? Didnt he resign or wasn’t he sked to resign? Two of his biggest accomplishments (if you want to call them that) are currently being reviewed (term limits & SOB home purchase tax)and the Napoleonic Syndrome Ompa Lumpa style of ruling he rubs everyone the wrong way….even his own PLP members. However, he and his supporters will get desperate and resort to dirty politics to get people to support him. Luckily most Bermudians are wise and tired of the the “race card”.
