I think what you are referring to is called Racketeering under US law, especially as applied to political and union corruption such as contract kickbacks, etc. This new law is about coming down hard on small time punks and not the political cabal who many suspect have run off with tens of millions…

So MPs can be charged under this new law also (govt. gang)? Also, the police gang? Trying to make such specific laws on vague definitions is bound to backfire. Unless of course it is just for appearances anyway. Genuine ignorance or appearances. Either way, a waste.
