We are pretty sure her parents intend to head out to China for the finals.

The whole contest is a month, so that’s really difficult to take a month off work, pay hotel costs for a month etc….but her Dad told us that they will be making the trek for the finals in mid-August.

Someone was just telling me today that her family weren’t able to go with her due to financial constraints. I wish that had been made better known (unless I’ve been living under a rock) as I would have gladly donated something and tried to get some donations around my office. I’m sure there are plenty of people who would dig in and donate. It would be nice if everyone could chip in and send her parents out there to surprise her just before the pageant. That extra bit of support would probably do her a world of good and increase our chances even more, plus it’s just a decent thing to do.

Everyone talks about what a lovely girl she is, and her parents look like good people. Is there any way the pageant organizers could set up a fund and we all chip in?

I was wondering the same thing! We must recognize, celebrate and support our new Miss. Bermuda to the highest level, she’s representing us! – where’s Dept. of Tourism etc… Maybe I missed it all…

All the best our beautiful Miss. Bermuda! I pray your family, friends and others can join you for support in China – keep your natural presence and poise and you will continue to shine throughout – your parents look so proud of you, and Bermuda is so proud of you!

I would like to know if anyone associated with the Pageant locally is accompanying her to China. I note that her family is trying to be there for the competition but did anyone leave with her last night?

Best of Luck to you and Im sure she will represent us well. Great girl, good family and good heart. Even some of the other contestants that competed against her felt that way. The runner up Chelsea Furtardo had many nice things to say about her and they were not rehearsed or “politically correct” they were genuine. I was proud to be Bermudian that night.
