Somebody tell me how do we get to Gonernment scholarships from Miss World pagent. Might I also say, the scholarship business has nothing to do with color nor achedemics; it might just be who you are and the circles you roll in. My child never got any money for school from anyone but her single parent. He/she maintained a 3.5 avg. in high school and has gone on to be the head of a Government office.

So there you have it. Black or White its who you know. If you are at the bottom of the rong I wish you luck.

My opinion is that she won based on being a Berkleyite (You’ll note Miss Teen is as well) and her international modeling experence in the uk I think. Bermuda has all ways valued international exp. above our own. Not taking anything away from Miss Bermuda but she was not in my top three but as I said on the other threads I would not have wanted to be a judge.

It seems that larger country’s are always on top if you look at the top 15. Smaller country’s IE: islands especially do not get any respect that’s also relevant in football etc. China winning maybe is an indication that China owns the world, the certainly own the U.S.A..LOL

Miss China was second favorite to win according to the bookmakers so it’s not a surprise. Miss Mexico was favourite and Miss Jamaica in the top 7 based on the odds. The odds on Bermuda said it all.
For those who said it was fixed, it most likely is, and the local pageant is unlikely to be any different. Rochelle certainly did her best under the circumstances, especially to be in the top 10 in the multi media award.
What should now be obvious is that the criteria to win is so different from the days when Gina won, Bermuda should stop wasting money sending a contestant. This year it was so bad even the Salvation Army had to help Rochelle. What a disagrace.

I did not see any extraordinary appeal that would make Miss China win the crown. But of course I understand that Miss World Org. is a business.. and this British-based pageant needs China to survive…I noticed that it is only in MISS WORLD that China managed to be recognized as runners-up & winners, despite of being non-English speaking. In a very credible pageant the American-owned Miss Universe, I haven’t seen in its half-a century existence that a Chinese outshone Latina, European & American beauties.. Even in Asia, Miss China is no match to the Philippines or Thailand or India or Japan, even Korea had a first runner-up finished in Miss U. China got its big boost as 4th runner up ONLY last year.

I am so disgusted that Miss China won. It just smacks of political undertones. The two times Miss China has won Miss World, the contest was held, guess where? You guessed it-China!

When this young lady first won Miss China, the Chinese talked about how much intensive work they were going to have to put into her, including teaching her English (that worked out really well-not) because they felt she was just not pageant ready. However, she just happens to come out and leave the rest of the girls in the dust? WOW.

I’ve always heard these contests are politically-motivated and this just proves it’s true!!!

clearly Miss China did not win she just got the title cause from what I saw she did NOT deserve to win, not saying she did not have some qualities but come on judges you did the world an injustice. Yes people will always have something to say about who wins, but this hands down is ridiculous!!!!! Such disrespect shown to the ladies who did participate and were much more deserving of the crown. On another note Miss Bermuda even though you did not place in the top 15 job well done Bermuda should be very proud.

Really strange coverage…Ms Wales came from left field and had very little prior coverage…Ms Sudan spoke so well…Ms China made no effort to speak in English…all others did and it was clearly difficult for them but they tried their best. Rochelle…you represented so well and should be proud of your achievements…..with just 2 weeks to prepare…I would be still packing…Great job!!

This definitely seems like a fix.
Many other girls outshone China and in the last question, Southern Sudan spoke the best and didnt even come 2nd or 3rd.
