Even though my parents went out to work I and my siblings had chores to do around the house before they got home so we were too busy to get in trouble.Now I see parents who are afraid of their own children. It is time for paeprents to take back their households and instil som disciplline back into their home. Some parents have to stop. Playing friend and be the parent these children need. These are some coldhearted criminals.

These are some busy boys! I hope their Supreme Court experience results in something more than a mere slap on the wrist if convicted. All that teaches is that there are no real consequences for bad behaviour. I’ve seen this MO before and all I can say is, the way it is escalating, if it isn’t stopped, instead of ICU the next victim will probably end up in a graveyard

If we start blameing the parents we would have to go back to our ancestors our parents parents so blameing the parents is wrong..unfortunately its a problem with our system,,,why not change the way the regiment is run,,forceing people at the age of 18 to go to the army is the worst idea ever..at 18 we have already made a path for ourselves determining which way our lives go and i am sorry to say but it does not help when we have kids with issues and a whole lot of free time on there hands from 14-17 why not force these kids at that age to go to the army and install some sort of disipline in there lives….just n idea

It’s called free will. I’m under 25, and have seen many good kids(friends and people I went school with) fall to the way side on their own doing; just the other day I saw a name in the paper and was completely shocked by the incident they were involved in.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, you can lead the horse… A parent can be present, be involved, show their kids right path, doesn’t mean they’re going to follow it.

Its’ a sad day for Bermuda , for the total fabric of our tenuous society to have teens allegedly committing such heinous crimes !
Talk about being responsible for our own actions ! These kids know better , we can’t blame it all on their parents , who are probably out working , struggling to give their families a decent life !
I do feel however due to the extreme nature of this crime , that all of the teens involved should be firmly dealt with , to make an example of them, firmly entrench that our judicial system & our community @ large will not accept this type of behavior , regardless of age or gender. If we expect to be moving more towards the solution .

Society is falling apart here because the PLP Gov cares only about maintaining power. It does not invest in law and order making it priority one because they do not want to upset their voter base.
The island is running amok and civil society as we once knew it, has crumbled apart.

Can anyone say gang initiation? It seems to me based on the ages of the ‘alleged’ offenders. These kids r watching too much TV. Just starting to live n now they’ve created a negative relationship with the police. Parents must be proud. When a person has low self-esteem they will do whatever its takes to be accepted more so when there is no love n attention at home.
Parents pay attention to ur kids! Why create them if you have no time for them?

BTW Ladies the dude ain’t staying just cause ya pregnant. The chick before you didn’t prove that to you smfh.

They are getting younger and younger. What does this say about the discipline our parents are giving their children and the discipline in our school system?

We need to open a facility that is “tough love” in Bermuda. Send them out to one of the islands and drill them like they have never been drilled before. Crack them until they cry! They will come home hugging their parents and swearing they never want to go back.

These parents should be held accountable for the childrens behaviour. I guess both are good boys and dont do any wrong ither. This is a man who had his children around and these boys didnt have any respect for them. i feel for the children cause they have to live with this for the rest of their life.
