Where are you living? Conditions not much different than a mild winter storm here. Dangerous seas, but I am too old to return to my surfing days so no risk there.

Yeah, you could very well be right. Putting the responsibilty of looking overhead for possible hazards is not in the bus driving job description. Getting them to take the left hand off the token machine & out of their seat to move a branch is beyond comprehension for a Bermuda bus driver.

@TD I would guess that in keeping to the spirit of Abundance of Caution the ministry would like to protect and preserve the equipment , buses , from damage , i.e. broken windscreens from displaced and overhanging tree branches and the like which could be dangerous to both driver and passengers . Public transportation will not send a single vehicle out onto the road again until every route is checked and declared safe for unencumbered passage . So don’t expect for buses to be on the road until Tuesday .

Oh good grief! Any excuse for a paid day off. Whats the limits now for bus operation? 30kts of wind up high on some hill??? Bermuda buses hardly qualify as high profile vehicles & Bermuda roads are certainly not prone to exposure to unrestricted high winds like an open highway in Kansas or an open bridge high over a body of water.
