For the most part political platforms are promises.
the OBA has to come up with a method to build on a bad state of affairs
while the PLP have to come up with a concrete plan to repair the problems and economic condition that they have created.
One has to remember that each political party will make claims to do this and that but a lot of it won’t be realistic due to so many factors that hunt Bermuda.
Lets face it Bermudians, we have a large number of complex problems to deal with.
[1]it’s going to take a lot of creativity and smart thinking to rebuild the economy
[2]how to get the unemployed back to work – again some serious action has to take place here.
[3]what techniques will be used to pay of the National Debt and how to prevent from happening again.
[4]the introduction of new ways to deal with violent crime
[5]the reconstruction of new and old Police tactics to deal with the rising crime in Bermuda.
[6]an overhaul of the Education system in Bermuda.
[7]the building and the development of Tourism.

Right now the platforms are just political dreams ready to turn into nightmares – BECAUSE BERMUDA HAS NO MONEY!

Oh’ SECRET PLAN – I wish we had one.

Thank you, I know what elite means. I used it in the unattractive sense. The PLP have been preoccupied with lining their own pockets, and those of their friends. For example, Global Hue got at least $42m, for what? Because its owners were friends of Ewart. The so-called pastor got $160,000, for what? Even Cox wanted him to return it, but he didn’t, and now he’s a PLP candidate. They treat the public purse as their own ATM. So when they talk about creating opportunities for everyone, “not just a select few”, is that what it means? That they don’t plan on looting taxpayers money for themselves in the future?

@Ric Rock—the term elite has been always used for people who don’t look like the PLP. just because they are the ruling party doesn’t mean that they have the power of influence especially economically…there are several meanings to that word.

The UBP announce their plan and then shortly thereafter, the PLP copied it exactly and “one up’d” each platform with the promise offering “free for everyone” with no mention on how they would pay for it. It worked for them last time so I’m sure they’re waiting to pounce once OBA is forced to show it’s hand.

Lets see ………the PLP did not put out their platform untill now as the needed to wait until the OBA put it out as the PLP is the Government should they not have put out their platform prior to now…………..OHHHHHH Yesssss LOL they needed to get the “Secrete Document out Prior to OBA putting out their platform to try and get the OBA to move in the Chess Game sooner to get the OBA ideas.

The PLP platform is “Comprehensive” So is covers everthing, must be the pot of debt at the end of the rainbow. If the PLP have answers for everything, why is the country in such a mess?!?! The country is in such a mess because of the PLP, the same PLP wanting your vote because they have the answers….If they have the answers, where the hell have the answers been for the last 14 years. Education fail, Tourism fail, balancing the budget fail, faith based tourism fail, Hotel build fail, Grand Atlantic Housing fail, employment fail, cost overruns fail, pretending debt is an investment …so where is the return and show me the payback…debt fail……this country thanks to the PLP is failing, unfortunately the PLP think that all is good, just like Smith pretending education results were good. I would of hung myself if this is what my hard work had produced, perhaps there wasn’t that much hard work or she doesn’t care. They have failled you, why would hire failures to run your country…the end result will be FAILURE. VOTE for mediocrity and failure, vote for the PLP. Please note this is not on government property, unlike the banners of the PLP at ELLIOT…another PLP fail…they can’t live by their own rules….they have no rules. Show me the accountability…..they can’t they fail to do so at every turn.

Why are you making excuses for them? The parties are sufficiently different in ideology that they’re not just going to steal all each others’ ideas, and even if they do it should be pretty simple to point that out. And if they steal each other’s good ideas, so much the better – then Bermuda benefits whoever is elected.
