You neglected to mention the divisive race-baiter in #3; the amateur boxer in #5; the pyramid schemer in #6, etc.

Also term limits extended for the foreign big boys allows those companies to invest here with confidence and hire young educated Bermudians. You act like the job is already there without the foreigner. It is not.

If you want to sing about the UBP for the next five years no is going to stop you, but you will get tuned out. This is a new Government and one that will be held accountable. We as a people have taken the power away from the mighty politicians who now are humbled. They will serve us to the best of their ability or they will be out. That is a refreshing change from the last five years where the politicians have seemed omnipotent and able to do whatever they want whenever they want.

Imagine if the PLP simply attempted at being somewhat cordial to people who do not necessarily agree with them all the time. Imagine if they didn’t employ the tactic of villifying and denigrating the characters of the people that they view s the enemy. The people that your Party constantly attacked are just as Bermudian as you or any other PLP supporter. Now you will go on about the attacks on the PLP performance as being one in the same as the PLP attack ads, rallies, opinion pieces. But what you fail to understand (or refuse to acknowledge) is that people were criticising PLP actions and/or in-actions, while the PLP venomously attacked people’s skin color, family members etc. That method is worn out after the last two elections.

You can pretend that the overwhelming non-support of whites for the PLP is simply due to racism. But your Party has simply tried to increase the hate and divide as means to retain power.

BUT race can be talked about, race is not the problem it is only when an uneducated person on life and culture like Hogson and Ewart Brown do it it it becomes nasty and devicive ,if you can’t do it in a healthy constructive way keep your mouth shut.
It takes people with class and respect to do that, you have to approach it with respect for all backgrounds, working on the future and people coming together for a better BDA is in a way working on race. Race is really not the problem i think it is just a respect issue and education issue. When cannonier talks about race he is breif and suttle makes his point and moves on he says “let’s put the deviciveness behind us and move on” enough said.

Although I don’t always agree with Eva Hodgson and other ‘race activists’ the work they do does have a place in Bermudian society. They provide a means by which the white Bermudian society can try to understand the historical experience of black Bermudians one which you may not be able to relate to but one that is their reality nonetheless.

Unless we start to take the time to actively listen and try and understand each other better then we will continue to be subjected to the ‘us vs them’diatribe that has been used been in the recent past to divide us as a community!
