Pit bulls were bred to be companion dogs, police dogs, & therapy dogs. Maybe you are too young to remember the pit bulls in the show the little rascals maybe not but these dogs were picked for the show because of there mild temperament & ability to be easily trained. Helen Keller had a pit bull as a seeing eye dog. Another famous pit bull is Weela who helped save 32 people, 29 dogs & 3 horses as a police dog. Others are Titan, who rescued his owner’s wife, who would have died from an aneurysm & D-Boy, who took three bullets to save his family from an intruder with a gun. If these dogs are not mistreated they make great companions.

But don’t let the facts stop you, or tricks are for kids and hmmmm.

Better yet, you tell us the in-depth facts and statistics that support your position.

Because the only statistics I can find support the opposite view: that pit bulls are much more likely to cause serious injury and deaths by dog bite than other types of dogs.

But if I’m wrong, give us the facts.

As for your comments about slavery – that was so long ago now that you will never see the people responsible for that being hung – they are all dead – and check your history – it was not just the white man that was responsible for slavery.

It is time for everyone – whether they are white or black – to be accountable for their actions and to stop blaming everyone else for their problems.

What about the days when vets used to gas animals? Looking back, that was cruel but perfectly acceptable. They may even still do it in some places. So what’s the difference between that and drowning an animal? I don’t see where he did anything cruel and he definitely shouldn’t go to prison!!!

Besides that, this dangerous beast of an animal didn’t give a rat’s back tooth about that small dog HE killed in a painful way, did he? It’s a heartless animal-why should anyone feel sympathy for it???

I don’t know what makes people think they’re such experts on humane ways to put down an animal. Drowning a dog is better than dragging it terrified to the vet to get a painful needle stuck in its arm so it can ‘go to sleep.’ Sometimes it takes a long time and they have to keep giving the animal more and more drugs while it lays there terrified and shaking. At least the dog died in his master’s arms in a peaceful way.

For anyone to doesn’t believe drowning is peaceful, look it up!

The massive misstep in judgement here was by the magistrate. As has been commented, people have been given bail and light sentences for far worse social atrocities than putting your dog down in a less than “humane” fashion. Mr. Brangman is being remanded in custody for nearly 2 months for taking less than desirable action that achieved the same desirable result. The end result here is that Mr. Brangmans life and family will be drastically effected. It will even reach out beyond that because he is truly a productive member of society. The magistrate has made a very poor decision here. Educating Mr. Brangman, rather than punishing him harshly, would have been better for all.

Being human doesnt make us better than animals, but it does make us more important. The life and livelihood of Mr. Brangman, is more important than the life of Bruno the dog. Anyone who says differently is living in Wonderland.

The problem with pits is that for many years people have used them in dog fights which has given them a bad rep. Many here get pits not because they want a pet that they can show love & affection to they want an animal that they think makes them look hard & gives them a sense of security for their insecurities.

You should have a talk with a SPCA person & they will tell you how the majority of abused dogs that are in their care are pit bulls. It’s just sick what some on this island do to this breed.
