First of all, many thanks to the organizers of this event. Sencondly, to the fathers who took out their time to spend with their princesses. It brought tears to my eyes watching fathers having a good time with their princesses. This night would be engraved in their hearts and minds for the rest of their life. That’s what counts!

You are a piece of work. Your wife and child should be so proud. I know the owner of Party With a Princess and all of her girls are in their late teens and early twenties. Not everyone wants talent from overseas.

Like I said before, you are an idiot. These girls work very hard and the owner has spent a lot of time and money in her business so she can bring joy to little girls. You are a very cold hearted man who sounds like he spends most of his time drinking to take him out of his misery. You hold a lot of hate in your heart.

These princess companies ( yes both of them) have done nothing to you to deserve such foul words out of your mouth. You should be encouraging companies like these not putting them down. God help your daughter if she wants to get a local support in the entrainment industry. She can’t turn to you.

What child’s birthday party have you not been to with adults not drinking in the back ground? The truth hurts Princess. The Princesses I saw look like someones mother in a dress at the birthday party and yes I was drinking!

Bermudians want international acts, it has always been that way and will continue to be that way. Move over and get on with the times and stop living in a fish bowl.

To Jaws: I take great offense to your comment. No one has ever brought to the island what Party with a Princess has. They are a very young company, and are working on young talent that can show themselves to the people of Bermuda. Bermuda has great talent and it’s idiots like you that bring them down. We have beautiful young women and talented young singers. You must be drunk all the time not to see that. Party with a princess is not trying to be Disney they never claim to be. They are giving something special to Bermuda that was never offered before with their state of the art costumes. Why don’t you ask all of the little girls they have brought joy to at their parties. It’s people like you who bring shame to my country. I would like to know when you ever saw Party with a princess in action, unless you were drunk at a little girls birthday party.

I saw Party with a Princess at Harbournights and the girls were first class.

I really don’t think the Princesses in Bermuda are on the same level as the Princesses my daughter and I enjoyed on Saturday.

Iv’e seen the local talent, I rate them C+ and this was while I was drunk.

Many thanks to the organizers of this event. My daughter and I had a great time and she could not stop talking about it all day Sunday. I agree with the posters above that talked about other things men can do with their daughters, however I know for a fact that the number of active fathers far out-weigh the number of inactive fathers with this event being just one of many on their calenders. There is no greater joy for me than spending my Saturdays catching up on daughter time and I am confident that the majority of fathers would agree.

Again, Congrats to the organizers and I look forward to attending next year and the years after that.

This was a lovely event and glad to see so many dads enjoying themselves. Stop being critical because you all know that you or some of your friends use to play with your moms makeup and put on her jewelery and heels and prance around the room. My granny use to have tea parties with me and a few friends at times and let me put on a lil lipstick and wear her good pearls and heels. Papa would even come in and join us for tea. Glad there are people who still believe in dress up and having fun.
It is a change from seen lil girls with booty shorts and half tops looking grown before heir time.

Yah……Ive been to Disney a few times. These girls are clearly NOT Disney girls. The costumes are not anywhere near Disney. I’m sure they did a great job and were from a professional party business in the states but they were not from Disney. If this is the case why didn’t we just use the local girls doing this? Ive seen them at Harbor Nights and they look and sound very professional!

From what I gather there are two princess companies in bermuda. One is run by a younger girl ( royal princess parties) who says she graduated with a degree in theatre. I had her do a birthday for my little girl, a real African princess But the girl who did the princess was white and very professional. The kids adored her and even talked about the event days after. She also does ,as mentioned,photos with kids. I think they go to the park and hang out with her being a princess and get photos taken. The other company I dont know to much about other than the same girl helps her out too. Ahh I found it ( Party with a princess) beautiful costumes!
My experience was lovely, so call them up and try them out before complaining about them.

Just to be clear, the princesses were not just playing dress-up. They were professional performers who performed songs from the movies they represented. It was not simply putting a woman in a costume and taking some pictures as I understand the local company to be.

I give accolades to this event, it obviously met the objectives which was to strengthen the bond between fathers and daughters. For next year, however, I would recommend that whatever theme you use it should include African American role models. Also my personal opinion is that I do not support the wearing of make up for children this young, let them enjoy the opportunity to have fun as children as opposed to activities that fast track them to vain, ‘prissy’ young ladies – yes I am sure the young girls thoroughly enjoyed it as this is the message that is bombarding them on a regular basis in our society.

Why does this seem emasculating to me?

Perhaps I need some time on a couch so here goes……they are beautiful the way they are….I understand DRESS UP…but make up? Daddy in a tux yes but Daddy in a tutu….why?

I know it may be just me but I feel like somewhere there was a grown woman with a “daddy issue” that said “if my father and I had done something like this together when I was a child I would be a better woman.” (Sobs…clutches pearls…..dabs eyes)

Girls go fishin’ with pops and make sure he teaches you how to fix stuff after these shenanigans…..take it from me there’s nothing in the world like knowing your way around a tool kit (Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor growl)……

@DeShante, that was one of my concerns aswell. One, because a five year black girl needs to see her race celebrated as a princess too. Secondly, because she loves Tiana. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get her. Tiana would have been great; but her having an evening alone with her dad ….PRICELESS!

Little bit too plastic fantastic fake for us – I have 2 girls BTW. But if that is what makes the dads step up and out with their daughters, that is great.

There are also alot of other events on the island where the guys can take their daughters (and sons) – mini golf, Arboretum on pedal bikes, the beach, Clearwater/Coopers Island.

I note that this was originally heavily sold as a Disney event, including the use of Disney trademarks and trade names such as ‘Ariel’, ‘Jasmine’ and even ‘Tiana’ as you mention.

Whilst it looks like everybody enjoyed themselves, this definitely isn’t a Disney calibre event and I would be very surprised if Disney had anything to do with it. I note that Bernews have avoided referring to ‘Disney’ and everything was rebranded after sales started.

I could swear there is a local company doing something like this already, but these young ladies were definitely not local.
