I know they are not very good at forecasting but (like the rest of us) are good at observing surely BAS Serco could give the airlines a heads up on the actual conditions BEFORE they leave the US

airline companies put restrictions on wind speed they can land in/decide not to land in. BA and Canada are slightly higher than american flights. Chances are these wind speeds just hit the limit and the pilot decided to go home to his family instead of spending the night in Bermuda(typical of airline pilots).

The plane may have been able to land if the other runway was open like it should be, but some people at that side of the island don’t want that runway open for crazy reasons.

Open up the other runway and make it longer, forget about putting up solar panels.

At the same time let redo the bridge like the Wald ford Bridge in Sandy’s.

It not the extra airport that is important! It’s the direction of the wind, the speed of the wind and position of the runway that counts. I think

See, now if we had built that airport at the west end, as was suggested by a PLP MP in the early 80s, that flight would have had an alternate airport to land at.

Give that proposal to the COH. They could build it on Whites Island. Seems like a perfectly viable project for Donal & Graeme to fly with.
