I took two trips to India.
The first one resulted in the establishment of basic relationships upon which future governments could build.
The TIAA between the two countries was signed. A agreement was signed between Bermuda and India’s leading film institute. At least two Bermudians have attended the institute. We paved the way for Bermudians to study various disciplines at the expense of the Indian Government. At least four Bermudians have utilized this program to further their studies.
We met with almost 100 film makers in Chennai. They made plans to come to Bermuda to film but ran into visa problems in the United States.
On the second trip I represented Bermuda at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. ALL expenses for that trip were paid PERSONALLY by my wife and myself.
We did this because we expected to(and did) examine various personal business opportunities.
We also understood the nature of the Bermuda environment which was polluted with allegations of corruption by the then Opposition. These unfounded allegations helped to render the Bermudian public skeptical about travel by their government officials. You reap what you sow!

Also, Brown focused on healthcare related import opportunities. While on a government trip. Interesting, given hiw sensitive you apparently are these days about conflicts of interest.
