My iPhone 6 Plus (64GB) cost me $849 + $75.35 (US sales tax) = $924.35. Duty in Bermuda was $212.25 ($849 x 25%). That made the total cost of my phone $1,136.60. Yes, there was a plan ticket involved as well as other travel expenses, but I was already abroad when the phone released. I don’t see anyone traveling just for the device and we travel so much or know of people who are traveling that it makes getting to an Apple Store so easy.

CellOne is asking you to pay $199 upfront for their PowerUp “scheme” + $50/month for 24 months. That equates to $1,399 for just the 16GB iPhone 6. I paid considerably less for a 64GB iPhone 6 Plus. And now I’m not tied into any contract. I’m sure Digicel will offer something similar with their Refresh “scheme” but you wouldn’t catch me doing that either.

Sorry, CellOne and Digicel. You won’t catch me buying your overly priced phones.
