All the time we read about sentences running concurrently for murderers, burglars, violent offenders and the whole shebang of nasty crimes. Yet this man gets consecutive sentencing for DWI? I don’t condone his actions and agree with the sentence he received but surely this should be done with the aforementioned crimes as well. Our justice system makes no sense to me at all. It seems the worse the crime is, the less punishment one receives and the more rights those offenders have. The victims have none. If you’ve noticed, it is the victims, police and professionals who get grilled on the stands by lawyers during any trial while the offenders have the right to just sit there and smirk.
