The pill could be sweetened by making a claim against BA, it only involves one email to them. It might also make them think twice before cancelling flights in the future.

If *all* inconvenienced passengers can be accommodated on the next flight then there must have been low bookings.

So pretty obvious that his was an economic and selfish decision by BA AGAIN. (their maintenance is planned months ahead, so a poor excuse)

The same thing happened to us earlier this year (May). We tried to make a claim and were put off by BA who told us that we were not entitled to any compensation. Following a decision by the European courts later this year, BA and all other airlines have now been told they do have to pay compensation. We finally received a letter from BA just last week confirming that we were entitled to Euro 600 each (Euro 1’200 total). I urge everyone that is affected by this cancellation to submit their claim. It is unfair to cancel the Bermuda flight as it is only one flight a day and is very inconvenient to people wanting to get too and from the island. If you were going to the States chances are you would get bumped to a flight a few hours later rather than having to wait 24 hours for the next flight.

have a few hours in NYC
then fly JFK to Heathrow.

Must be Wednesday. Seems to be the ‘norm’ theses days. People flying out here on today’s flight knew yesterday that this flight was cancelled. Sad from the monopoly airline to Europe.

this is unfair british airways ticket soooo much expensive and now theu are telling us that flight are cancelled what will happen if we have some connecting flight?

Important aircraft maintenance? Do BA not have spare planes? I would understand budget airlines that operate on a shoestring not having spare planes but BA should have. If all departing customers were able to be rebooked on tomorrow’s flight then both flights must have been half empty so perhaps that is the reason they have cancelled.

This happens time and time again from BA and is unacceptable. I encourage all those affected to claim their statutory compensation of €600 under E.U. Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 http://www.airpassengerrights.eu/en/flight-delay.html

It might then make it less cost effective for them to cancel like this in the future.

British Airways tickets are expensive enough, and then they have the audacity to cancel flights to Bermuda AT THE LAST MINUTE for “important aircraft maintenance”?

“technical problems” no doubt. Or possibly low passenger load tonight, so cancel it and claim there were “technical problems”.
