The situation with Mr. Woolcock has been very sad, but given what I understood about the accident from the beginning, I’ve always felt badly for the driver. Fault or not, being involved in someone’s death is traumatic

Agree with both of you here. It had to have been nerve-shattering for the driver.

Hopefully this will not distract the powers that be from looking at the situation along this stretch of road as it still remains a bit of a tricky area for pedestrians and motorists. There was a car/bike crash there just yesterday, and a few near misses for pedestrians on the crossing earlier. It still needs to be addressed.

I know the driver and he was very distraught over the incident, especially as Mr. Woolcock was so well known; no-one wants to go down as the one being responsible for the death of anyone, never mind an icon. It’s a relief to find out that the driver wasn’t at fault and eases one’s mind that Mr. Woolcock pretty much died of natural causes and that his life wasn’t taken in a horrible way before his time.

Yes, thank you. I have been so saddened by his passing as he was a wonderful and talented man, however, I have wondered about the driver too – I hope he/she is exonerated if the findings show.

That crossing still needs to be made safer. Raise it like the other one on that road. There also needs to be a light put there, can hardly see anyone on the sidewalk at night there (or the light fixed if there is one).

The one on Church Street outside Dorchester House needs better lighting as well. Perhaps it should be raised as well or put a crossing light there.

There’s a number of locations that aren’t serviced by a traffic light that should be. Especially at Parliament and Reid Streets.
