Another attempt to divide the races for political gain. The author attempts to suggest that blacks should not join the O.B.A. as there continues to be very real segregation in the world of finance and in our community”.
Dr. Hodgson does a disservice to the black community,(like some others do) as she thinks that the Bermuda we live in today is like the Bermuda she lived in 50 years ago. Bermuda is now a place where with good work ethics, and a good education also a good attitude anyone regardless of their skin colour can achieve. Forced segregation is gone, if we are segregated today it is because we choose to be. Personally I do / mixed with people of all “races” in my life.
Opportunities are out there for all to grab, you just have to do it. Do not get mired in the past, but learn from it and do not repeat the ills. Believe me, the Bermuda we live in today is different to the one of yesteryear!
