Religion is not a joke. It is a very sad state of affairs. The belief in an imaginary deity and all the hate that goes along with it. The people who invented religion were sick mind control freaks.

I would be quite willing to believe in God (any of the 3,000 or so man made Gods) if there was the slightest piece of evidence.

There are plenty of people who are nonreligious, yet who are good people. They never steal anything. Never cheat on their wives. Go to work every day and do their honest best for their families.

I was there at the memorial and it was a quiet and supportive gathering.

This morning, after reading many of the self-focused posts above, I am so sad that people in our island cannot support something that is different than their own particular causes. There is more to the world than this little rock in the Atlantic. Try exploring some compassion for something different than you in your life.

For the complainers that think there should be a gathering for other causes…MAKE IT HAPPEN YOURSELF! The gathering yesterday was planned and coordinated by one person with some help from friends. They were not complaining that Government didn’t do it for them. Stop waiting for the world to give you everything you want. Sorry for this quote that many of us are already familiar with:

Some of you still don’t seem to understand that #jesuischarlie #iamcharlie and all the rallies around what happened in Paris are not to support France and have nothing to do with race. They are to support freedom of expression – the right to make fun or perhaps disagree with any or all religions, which at the core is an idea just like any other (political, philosophical) – and not be killed or harmed for expressing your beliefs. People who are protesting are from all races and religions so saying you aren’t supporting this movement because you don’t want to support mocking a certain religion is preposterous. Without freedom of expression, all of your comments here would be banned or edited or even worse, you could get harmed or killed just because you’ve said what your thoughts are. It’s actually really sad to see that some people don’t understand this. Open your minds.
