Boulevard Blazers Win, Claim First Division Title
At the White Hill Field, the Boulevard Blazers made their long awaited return to the Premier Division with a 9-1 win over the Somerset Eagles to win the First Division Title, with several other matches taking place on the island as well.
Somerset Eagles 1 – Boulevard Blazers 9
The Boulevard Blazers came into the game needing one point for promotion and three to claim the title, and their intentions to win the League were made early when Dun-ya Taylor scored two goals in quick succession; he first found the back of the net in the 20th minute and then doubled the lead two minutes later.
TaieVince Douglas then made it 3 – 0 to the visitors in the 30th minute; Douglas would score again in the 35th to extend the Boulevard Blazers lead to 4 – 0. Aldonte Smith would make it 5 – 0 in the 40th minute and then Douglas completed his hat-trick with a goal in the 43rd minute as the Boulevard Blazers took a 6 – 0 lead into the break.
The second half saw Ian Coke get in on the scoring act when he found the back of the net in the 56th minute, Coke would score again in the 61st and 88th as the Boulevard Blazers would extend their lead to 9 – 0, following a foul in the box the Somerset Eagles would get on the scoreboard when Jeron Butterfield would convert in the 90th minute, but the goal could not spoil the Boulevard Blazers party.
Devonshire Colts 4 – St. David’s 2
At the Police Field, the Devonshire Colts also made the long awaited return to the Premier Division with a 4-2 win over St. David’s. Carlos Trott gave the Devonshire Colts the 1 – 0 lead when he scored in the 42nd minute. Allan Douglas Jr. drew St. David’s level with a goal in the 63rd minute only to have the Devonshire Colts go back in front two minutes later when Jahde Eve scored.
Lozendro Symonds would then give the Devonshire Colts a 3 – 1 lead when he found the back of the net, but Douglas would once again find the back of the net to pull St. David’s within one. Eli Smith would score for the Devonshire Colts in the 81st minute to give them back their two goal lead and the win.
BAA 5 – Young Men Social Club 1
At the BAA Field, the home team had a chance to gain promotion but needed help, first they had to do their part and get three points. Morricko Iris gave them a good start with two goals in the first 6 minutes, LaQuan Thomas would give BAA a 3 – 0 lead when he scored in the 26th minute.
Iris would complete his hat-trick when he found back of the net six minutes into second half and then Thomas would make it 5 – 0 when he scored in the 63rd minute, Young Men Social Club would not be denied a goal as Saki Tuzo found the back of the net in the 73rd minute.
X-Road’s 10 – Wolves 0
At the Garrison Field home team X-Road’s ended the season with a 10 – 0 win over Wolves. Tristan Daniels led the charge with 4 goals, while Khyon Smith scored twice, X-Road’s also got single strikes from Mackih McGowen, Jamin Furbert, Rico Beek and Dennis Musson.
Ireland Rangers 0 – Paget Lions 5
At Malabar the Paget Lions got a hat-trick from Jahnya Richardson and two goals from Y-Ron Astwood as they defeated Ireland Rangers 5 – 0.
