Yes they are! they have to be here so long before because they must analyze the conditions to see what they must do to make their AC boat the fastest… also it is nice to sail in the waters to make sure you are on top when things such as wind shifts and realizing the way the land effects the wind and waters (currents)

Are you freaking kidding? Just because Bermuda is TINY, does not mean we don’t inspect EVERYTHING coming from foreign lands (especially USA!). We do. Yes, they are moving here. Lots of activity in the West End rental market. Their kids will be going to school here. Those teams that are not reliant on Government subsidies from their home countries are relocated now to Bermuda to maximise their time training in our wind conditions.

Who was operating the unloading equipment? Who is building that workshop on the doack? Who is constructing the facility across the basin? Who is feverishly renovating homes at the west end for AC rentals? Who has been & will be working at Morgans point, Pink Beach, Ariel Sands etc?

Duty would only have been paid on consumables. The above looks like infrastructure that will be exported if we don’t host the next America’s Cup. Should these things stay on island after AC35 they would either have to be destroyed under HM Customs supervision or if sold locally duty would be paid then.

The X-Ray machine is a requirement for containers exported to the US. Customs can red-tag and search any container they wish. These containers are often not searched at the Hamilton Docks but at the site of final delivery and unload.

Look around and see how many foreigners are quite content,(and may I say, living within their means)in todays workforce doing menial jobs that many seem to be too proud to take on themselves. If there are jobs, (which there are ) available to someone from some other country then why can’t them that complain (daily) about not having a job / or can’t find a job, take on the menial job/s (they are advertised on the Government T.V. station,(JOBS #87)Departmentof Workforce Development.
