International building code requires there be no metallic conduit within fifteen mile of salt water (oceans)...firstly...metal conduit causes stripping on wires creating straight contact...anybody with a tingle in their hand from touching a wall will tell you...then when it gets rainy or stormy you have salt...sodium on the house which in turn creates a battery...know what electrolysis does to an aluminium boat without zincs?....a friend of mine had this issue on an aluminium stryker...the mechanic pulled the wire through and created direct contact when the insulation stripped off...within six months...of absolute minimal use the metal eroded to paint...some places worse than others...he went to put his hand on a railing and all that was left was paint...his hand went right through it.electrolysis eats the softest metal first...whether they are rivits...or bolts holding a beam...or reinforcement rod in a concrete deck...destabilising a structure making it unsound and dangerous!insurance understand liability...so to should building code officers...if you build within four feet of a boundary you need written permission regardless of proximity of existing building as it is liability you cause by devaluing adjacent property...and devaluation of rental value as well.....this is a liability as well...hense...put back and make right.,or pay damages of what the build has cost adjacent properties...it is called compensation...or renumeration...As a builder I have seen some strange ship...but more and more I see placement of buildings within unhealthy proximity to 70kilowatt transformers within inches...within six feet....one fool I know lays his head down to sleep within this proximity...I'm thinking cancer...and or explosion from surge...planning put a 999% price to a fine for costs to amount of perceived whatever that will certainly be turned around and utilised back at them as damages ...they set the amount...but they also set the expectation...this is now law....but law is pertinant like a yellow line on a two way street....talk about these items...gain some self respect!Have the respect of others...
