While I certainly feel for the injured man, the raised crosswalk was not the cause of the accident.

Well, the crossing in its previous location wasn’t appropriate, people were getting struck because people would accelerate off the roundabout instead of being cautious, so it had to be moved.

It took Mr. Woolcock’s death to finally get the powers that be to move the crossing,… even though many drivers still appeared to treat the new crosswalk like a racing start/finish line.

The raising of the new crossing is admittedly controversial, but people really need to take their time when approaching it.

So moving the crossing then turning it into a speed bump which put at least one unlucky 43yr old in ICU was totally unnecessary, figures.
