Sometimes they’re moved to break up fights. As ‘civil servants’ (and that term shouldn’t be taken literally), they cannot be fired so the best we can do is shuffle them off to another school and hope they don’t get into more fights.

To the teachers that commented. Your comments make sense but if it is because of retirements and the like, why is it that those who know about the process and what was taking place felt the need to take this all the way to the courts. There is something not right.

I personally know of teachers that were moved against their will. I know that during the school year, teachers nervously can’t tell parents who is going to be around next year, because they don’t know who is being moved against their will.

It’s nothing to do with improving things for students. It’s to make work for the MOE civil servants, spending the year making ‘big decisions’ abut shuffling teachers around.

Why do people who are not involved in the trenches need to comment….many of these moves are because of teachers and principals have retired so they reshuffled. Some of these post teachers requested a transfer. Why is because I want to change schools do I as a teacher have to ask permission from someone not directly involved in my Employement. Seriously none of these folk are satisfied at times they look at us as if we are just babysitting their kids during the day.

You do know that some teachers and some principals took early retirement right? Where do you think they are going to get replacements, out of a hat? Some people have to move internally and take on new post to fill the gaps. It’s quite contrary to your statements. A lot of the moves are to ensure consistency and stability. Convinced? No ? Well tough, anyone can make reckless statements sitting on the sidelines….

Seriously! What’s going on is people retired, positions became available and people took the opportunity. What people can’t ask for a change of scenery or look to better themselves through promotion? Some of these moves are what’s best for the schools. Walk a mile and then talk please. People are never satisfied.

It’s not meant to be good for students. That’s the last thing on the list.

All this moving people around every year is designed to provide employment to 200-300 otherwise totally unnecessary MOE civil servants. As soon as the new 2015-16 school year starts, they will be starting the process of having meetings, doing reports, discussing internally, for the 2016-17 round of musical chairs.
It’s to give them a ‘reason’ for employment. Otherwise they would be doing absolutely nothing at all.

It’s nothing at all to do with making things better for students.
