Most Bermudians will go for reggae, dancehall or soca. Unless you’re bringing in someone of the level of a Beyonce (at which point you’re going to have to funnel out major dough), what artist/genre is going to pull in the numbers to make it worthwhile?

You could bring in the biggest country star or rock group in the world, but will people from overseas flock to see them? Will locals?

Is this just a celebration? And why are they targeting one particular demographic? Obviously those participating in the America’s Cup are somewhat well off, so why is this ‘celebration’ so costly? Sounds more like a fundraiser.
Perhaps someone from the BTA can sponsor all of those who are interested in going by sharing their incentive pay. Then we can celebrate!

I’m not excited by this at all.

They’ve chosen artists who are not relevant in the slightest. I saw Maxi at the last Lennon show and he was good but What a missed opportunity this is for Bermudians to see a major artist and for our visitors to go back to their homes and say “we saw so and so artist in Bermuda!”
For the money they are spending for three artists they could have afforded one major act and pay for some local acts. At least the quality ones.

The people who are flying in for that amazing sailing weekend are going to laugh at this and stay away.

More reggae and soca yet we aren’t “from the Caribbean” as we are so proud to say. If you wanted to go the reggae route at least get our homegrown Jafaican, Collie Buddz, to perform.

That’s funny.

Because all the recent concerts were similar prices over cup match.

The Carnival prices in June this year were also similar prices.

Non-mariners cruises were $200/250 per ticket.

The upcoming Joe concert is $125.

All of those were packed with Bermudian revellers and I know of many that are going to joe later this month as well.

But somehow this event is too expensive and can’t be afforded.
