The policeman in the picture is one of the most approachable officers on the island. He consistently walks the areas and is known by his first name by many residents as he also knows them and their families names. He also on a regular basis helps with a school home work programme and Beyond Rugby Bermuda. These extra commitments are done in his own time. Bermuda should be thankful for people like him who put their efforts into helping the young people of Bermuda.

Also its funny how someone is saying Paula was chauffeured around during canvassing. Obviously this person has never seen someone canvass and doesn’t know how much harder that would make the job.

Just for clarity the large police officer is the inspector responsible for the Community Action Team . They are the team that interacts daily with the community. As one of the providers of service it is appropriate that he too listen to the organizers comments both praise and concern.

Go into North Hamilton, and you will see Opposition leader Marc Bean on any given day. Not with cameras in-tow, not faking it with the people of the area, but certainly patronizing the various businesses. The deputy leader Burt does the same, as do most PLP MPs. But its natural and genuine, and we in the community know and feel it. That is the difference. They do not need an escort by Dennis Bean and Outtasight Simmons. Instead of the patrimony style politics with photo ops, when will Mr. Dunkley address just ONE of the myriad of issues plaguing his poor Government?

would the mayor and cohorts please take a walk along front street from the corner of Bermudiana road to the Birdcage and note the rank smell of urine. having walked that road today i was embarrassed that our tourists had to be subjected to that stench. perhaps the mayor needs to walk the length of front street later this evening to see the number of men lying, some sleeping in front of the establishments. no doubt they are also relieving themselves. they are able to congregate without fear or reproach of the police service. disgusting!

That is so true…..it’s funny, and a bit sad, but it is so true.

This who thing is a farce. These folks only go in this area is there is a chance for a photo op. The true test is whether they will come back…will they recommend the various stores and businesses to their friends and family? Will they include the stores in this area during a shopping trip into town?

I well remember Cox taking a chauffeured limo when she went out canvassing for votes.
And her chauffered limo dropping off her, Kim Wilson and Patrice Minors at Little Venice and Barracuda for lunch on Fridays.
She wasn’t exactly interested in walking around anywhere, much less back of town.

Does it make you sick that MP Weeks was included? Is he part of the ‘photo opp crew’?

Would you be equally critical if the Premier and others refused to take part?
