It is said you will never learn any thing from a young person .

Who do you think built Bermuda ?

The young are quick to place our people into the ” Age box ” while they themselves are the ones who are mentally challenged with out their ” i ” computers and cell phones they are absolutely useless.

In order for a country to function there is a need for diversity, we can not all be taxi drivers or chamber maids. People need to develop diverse skills, this is where an apprenticeship came in, there will always be a need for carpenters, mechanics etc ! all requiring English and math skills .

The unions are to blame for encouraging the “one man one job”, look at where that has got us, with lots of people out of work, Bermuda needs to move forward with the times.

The unions brought England to its knees 70 years ago.

Are we all sitting on our thumbs waiting for the next miracle? We need to get along with one another,living in the past is over.

Are we the best at what we do ?
What is our brand ?
What is Bermuda’s national product ?
What are we to be known for ?
Where are we going ?
Is service, all we have to offer ?

The big problem here is the “down de road” mentality that may work out in the street, but not at the employment office.

May be we can blame the education system for the ignorance or lets take it one step further and blame the teachers who have lost touch with modern day business requirements.
