It is not, the exact same basket of goods and services from a local supermarket has gone from $146 to $176 in one year. My basket information is proprietary. Inflation in most other developed countries is 0 and may be negative, deflation. By the same token my gas tank is almost 40% cheaper to fill up than it was at its peak a few years ago. That 40&quot; Samsung Smart TV has dropped 50%. Measuring inflation is very complicated and depends on what you personally need or want to buy or have to buy. It seems essential services are rising and non-essential are falling. A component of this is what I term recessionary inflation, its when you used to have 10 customers paying $1 and now you have 5 so you try to charge $2. Economics doesn&#039;t work like that, pretty soon you&#039;ll have 0 customers. Its a harbinger of doom and its happening here.]]></description>
