Why is the Ministry holding the Eastern and Western zones meeting at a school in the respective zone. If they truly care about getting input from the people who will be affected by the closures they hold the meetings in the at the proposed schools or at least nearby. A government that cares does everything possible to reach and hear all…OBA please listen please…the majority voted you in not the minority…Bermudians voted you in not our PRCs or Guest Workers. So please start representing us the Bermudians and doing the will of the majority!

This entire process should have been handled better, with consultation and communication with parents and teachers from the start. Incredibly disappointed with Minister Scott as I have with this entire administration.

Gilbert was designated to teach the hearing impaired. They have (3) teachers who communicate using sign language, and classes are fitted to accommodate those students….. So now what? Where do the students go?

Exactly. These meetings will be just lip service. The decisions have already been made folks. Organize yourselves asap.

Funny how Gilbert may be closing and there are set of development plans in play for 60 units once it closes

Good luck Minister. No matter what you say. No matter how logical the downsizing plan is, in the minds of the PLP supporters this is all part of some sinister ulterior motive to keep them down.

The fact is that the PLP had plans of doing the very same thing & there was no objection. They simply did not get around to following through with what needed to be done.

Now, with less demand because of a declining birth rate & the preference of parents to send kids to private schools if they can, Government is supposed to keep all schools open because, well, just because.
