		<description><![CDATA[Ahhh, yes, May 24th.  This is the race that took me from a beer guzzling, cigarette smoking loser, to a non-smoking multiple full and half-marathon running addict (who still guzzles beer, to be fair).

The column is spot on.  I would just add a couple of things from experience:

1. If you put in the miles during the training, the race itself will be so much fun, because you know you can do it;
2. Drink the water/energy drinks at the stations, don&#039;t pour it over your head;
3. Don&#039;t let adrenaline get the better of you at the start.  Start slowly and finish in Bernards Park, start quickly and finish on Harbour Road;
3. Put your name in big letters on your shirt.  There is no better sound than hearing your name being called out!]]></description>
