How is this keeping Bermuda moving forward ? Canada,UK along with other places are getting tighter immigration laws as ours are weaning. Other islands stick together for their people and island only Bermudians will go against each other to allow other cultures to take over our home. At the rate of people that are here we’ll be washesd out of our own country. Its bad enough I come back from school and can’t get a job.

Been watching from here in the States, and I have to ask: isn’t anyone else stunned that a Public Service that *all* of Bermuda relies on is being used to make a political statement that represents the opinion of only some? How is that justified?
That is not responsible protest – that’s holding your countrymen hostage.

Hi everyone, I am a mixed race expat here in Bermuda, and I am very interested in what’s happening with Pathways. I empathise with elements on both sides of the issue.

What I don’t get is why people chose to be so hateful. This clearly is an emotional issue, but is it worth trying to out-hate each other?

Great idea. And a couple of extra dollars a month from every Bermudian union member should make up for the shortfall. I personally wouldn’t mind paying $5 extra a month to make up the difference.

Furlough days has been brought back by the union. The unions saving the public purse while a portion of their members are the same people they are protesting against.

Any expat who is pays union dues should send a message to the unions by withdrawing it and sending it charity instead. Talk to your HR departments tomorrow and tell them you want to change your union dues to charity.
