Let me know when there is a good one planned that isn’t showcasing a 1970′s – 1980′s singer.
Current R&B artists command upwards of $250,000 – $500,000. And those are second tier artists.
unfortunately, we don’t have a large enough population to support these acts. Or we could, if 4000 people were willing to pay $200 – $250 per ticket. That’s not even VIP. Someone said it, the quarter to half a million is just for performing. You haven’t paid for them to get here, house, transport and pay for the set up costs. The only reason we were able to get Beyonce and Alicia is by spending millions of the taxpayers money with zero return on investment. How is that Music Fest looking? Oh, it doesn’t exist anymore. Too bad.

If you look at the price tags for rnb artist vs Caribbean based artist you will understand the demand here isn’t enough to cover the price tag. Stage lights and audio equipment alone is 100k that doesn’t include the artist or their rider, nor hotels plane tickets etc.

Every now and then you’ll hear about a R&B personality performing in Bermuda, but I don’t think the audience/demand in Bermuda is as high for those performers as it is for soca/dancehall/reggae personalities.

reggae is cool but there are other types of shows out there
